Lyme takes both games in season opener

The day got off on a good start when the rain stopped before the first game started. The sun, however, never did find its way out from behind the clouds. Lyme Taverners won both games by scores of 10-4 and 27-8 perhaps reflecting the fact that while this was our first match of the season, Lyme already had a match in their win column. We’ll get another shot at them on June 6th.

First Match of the 2015 Season

Update: Bristol has let us know that they won’t be able to make it to our match on Saturday. So we’ll just be playing a double-header with Lyme. First game at 10:30am, second game should start around 12:30pm.

Our first match of the season is a 3-team match vs. the Lyme Taverners and the Bristol Blues BBC of Rhode Island this Saturday, May 16th, on our home field at Fort Trumbull. We will play in the first game vs. Lyme and it will start at 10:30am. The 2nd game will be Lyme vs. Bristol which should start around 12:30pm, and we will play the 3rd game vs. Bristol starting around 2:30pm.

Scrimmage vs. Conn College

Scrimmage-20150423Instead of practicing tonight, we scrimmaged with the Connecticut College Baseball Club. The temperature was 45 degrees with wind gusts up to 25mph making it feel like 38 degrees. The last 20 minutes of the game were played in a steady light rain and there was even some brief hail at one point. CCBC jumped out to a quick lead in the top of the 1st and never relinquished it. A good time was had despite the weather.
